New Frontiers of HCI Research

16.01.2014 13:00
16.01.2014 17:00

Human-Computer Interaction as a research field is ever expanding. The traditional focus on making computer use more user-friendly has now broadened towards all kinds of interactive systems, users, and contexts. There is also an increasing concern about the lack of design focus in HCI and its impact on the society.

In this seminar, we have a unique chance to hear several Nordic HCI stars presenting their views on the new frontiers of HCI research. These include societal and innovation topics, as well as new application domains of HCI.

Place: Helsinki, Kumpula, Exactum building, room ck112
Time: Thursday 16.1.2014, 13-17

Agenda:

13:00 Kari Kuutti: Where is HCI heading? – The challenge of "practice"
13:30 Mikael Wiberg: Interaction Design Research: A Concern for Inventing the Future?
