Aims of the symposium

EHTI’08 is the first Finnish symposium on the research of emotions in the context of human-technology interaction. The field covers a diverse range of topics from basic studies of human social and affective information processing to machine recognition of emotions and interface agents with emotional intelligence. Interest and attention to this field has been growing steadily during the recent years, also in Finland. The purpose of this event is to gather researchers in the field and introduce the research that is being done in Finland. Submission information.

The event

The symposium will include presentations from researchers and/or research groups and informal socializing with wine and buffet. The event is sponsored by SIGCHI Finland, Tampere Unit for Computer-Human Interaction (TAUCHI) and the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Tampere. The Research Group of Emotions, Sociality, and Computing (ESC) at TAUCHI has the pleasure of hosting the event.

Registration

Participation fee to the event is 20 euros for members of SIGCHI Finland and 30 euros for non-members. For non-members, the registration fee includes the membership to SIGCHI Finland for the rest of this year.

Location

The event takes place in Juvenes Kokouskekus at Åkerlundinkatu 1 (opposite to Tampere-Talo). The conference room is Juvenes-sali in the third floor.
